Service One proudly promote sustainability by offering a recycling service for old IT equipment throughout the Aberdeenshire area.
We collect
and take apart old computers, re-using working parts in
refurbished machines. These are then given, free of charge,
to charities, schools and community groups, or re-sold at a
highly reduced cost. In compliance with WEEE (Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment) guidelines, a trusted
company will dispose of all parts unsuitable for recycling.
We also provide a data removal service to completely erase
any sensitive information from the hard drive. Our data
removal service is provided to ensure reliable data removal.
Businesses can't simply format the hard drive or media as
this does not truly delete/destroy the data. Formatting the
drive will overlay the original file system with a new file
system enabling the old files to be retrieved using a
variety of data retrieval software. Our data removal service
will counter this process.
To ensure complete data removal of hard drives for re-use,
Service One utilises a data
removal process above and beyond the MOD standards (7
Passes), we use the Guttmann 35 pass process for extra
protection.

We accept all old computers in working order, and computers under 3 years old may be eligible for free collection. However, a small fee will be charged for collection of computers older than 3 years.
