Microwave Leakage Measuring And Safety Testing

Unless microwave cookers and ovens are periodically tested they may become a health and safety hazard without you being aware.

Testing of the microwave ovens include a measurement of the radiation levels around the oven using a microwave leakage detector meter like the Robin TX90 to ensure compliance with the 5 mW/cm2 limit.

Lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance of the door seals and rough handling can often lead to microwave leakage measurement levels in excess of the recommended limits as laid down in BS5175. Safety interlock switches and the door seals should be inspected for any signs of damage to ensure that they function correctly and safely.
